Bibby’s Hoek in Rheenendal is an ideal family destination to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Situated on the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains in the heart of the hiking & cycling trails and the start of the famous Seven Passes. The Jubilee Creek is amazing for picnics and the Millwood Goldfields to explore are within a short hike or drive of just 2km. The area is nestled between pine covered hills, fynbos and dairy farms on the stunning Garden Route coastline between George and Knysna. Many beautiful unspoiled beaches and estuaries are a mere 12kms offering bathers, fishermen and outdoor activities endless options of lazy sunbathing, hiking, cycling, fishing, sightseeing and exploring. 

Rheenendal, a rural community near Knysna, has a history rooted in forestry, farming, and the gold rush era, with a strong connection to the Knysna forest and the Van Reenen family. The area was initially settled by farmers like Stephanus Jesaias Terblanche in the late 1700s, and later became known for its sawmill industry, particularly after the Van Reenen family established themselves there in the early 20th century. The name "Rheenendal" itself is linked to the ancestral home of the Van Reenen family in Holland.
